Lash Lift or Lash Extensions?

So in my previous blog post (see here) I introduced you all to my latest treatment being offered at the salon, so I thought this next post ought to explain the differences and benefits!

Difference between Eyelash Extensions and Lash Lift
Although both treatments are used to make the lashes longer, fuller and alluring, the process for each treatment is very different and achieves different results.
Lash extensions can take several hours to apply and involve using a cosmetic glue to bond false individual lashes to your natural lashes by an experienced lash technician to make them look physically fuller and longer. A high maintenance treatment requiring infills every 2 to 4 weeks.
On the other hand, a lash lift takes a fraction of the time at 45minutes to an hour and involves the natural curling and perming of your lashes using a 3 step system to make them appear longer and fuller. A lash lift is very low maintenance in comparison lasting between 6-8 weeks.
Comparatively the difference in cost may surprise you... if both treatments were to initially cost £45 and then taking into account the frequency of maintenance of both treatments, this means that over the course of a year...
Lash Extension maintenance every 2-4 weeks could cost you between £345-£670 a year (depending on the cost of infills with your local tech)
Lash Lift & Tint every 6-8 weeks could cost between £292-£382 a year!
Thats a huge difference in cost!
So, a lash lift gives an enhanced look to your natural lashes while eyelash extensions can be used for a rather dramatic effect.
Ultimately, it all comes down to the look you want to achieve, if you like that fuller lash look, extensions are for you. If you prefer going more natural, a lash lift is the way to go.
